Kountry Kartel was established in 2006 by Gimson & Rosko formerly spelt Rosco. Both Gimson & Rosko were previously in a group called YMP where they released two collective mixtapes, “The Beginin” and “The Take Ova”. Gimson & Rosko introduced several artists through Kountry Kartel such as Saint, Why Lie, Toby Marsh and Alma. But as artists came and went Gimson & Rosko never lost focus and carried on producing some of the greatest urban music to come out of the South West UK. Kountry Kartel has always had close working relationships with other local artists such as Di-Wreck, J.R.O.A.D. Nino, Chin Killa and Lowdose. In 2009 Rosko introduced his good friend Dane Gumas to Gimson and they both agreed Dane Gumas AKA Offkey should be involved with Kountry Kartel. This is the Kountry Kartel people all now know and love.
